About Witthaya Labs

Building AI Literacy,
One Concept at a Time

We believe that learning to work with artificial intelligence should feel clear and manageable, not overwhelming. That conviction shaped everything about how Witthaya Labs was put together.

Our Story

How Witthaya Labs Began

Witthaya Labs was established in Bangkok by a small group of practitioners who had spent years working across data science and applied machine learning roles. What brought them together was a shared frustration: the resources available to learners — whether online tutorials, intensive bootcamps, or university modules — rarely felt designed with the learner's comfort in mind.

Most courses moved quickly from one topic to the next, leaving little time to absorb each idea before the next arrived. The founders noticed that learners who struggled were not lacking intelligence or dedication; they were simply being asked to build on ground that had not yet settled under their feet.

The name Witthaya — which in Thai refers to science, knowledge, and the act of learning — was chosen deliberately. It signals that the school is built around the process of coming to understand something, not just acquiring credentials. From the first course to the final capstone project, the curriculum is arranged so that each concept rests clearly on the previous one, forming a stable lattice of knowledge that grows with the learner.

Since opening in 2021, Witthaya Labs has worked with learners from a range of backgrounds: software developers curious about machine learning, researchers hoping to apply data methods to their own fields, and people entirely new to programming who simply want to understand the technology shaping the world around them. The common thread is a willingness to study carefully and an appreciation for teaching that respects their time and intelligence.

The People

Who You'll Learn With

Each mentor at Witthaya Labs brings both practical experience and a genuine interest in helping people progress at their own pace.

PW

Prem Wattana

Lead Mentor, Machine Learning

Prem spent eight years building data pipelines and recommendation systems before turning his attention to teaching. He is particularly patient with learners who find the mathematics behind ML unfamiliar at first.

NK

Nattaya Khamthong

Python & Data Fundamentals

Nattaya developed training materials for a regional technology firm before joining the team. She has a talent for breaking unfamiliar concepts into steps that feel natural to follow, even for complete beginners.

SC

Somchai Chairat

Capstone Projects & Portfolio

Somchai oversees the Guided Capstone track, drawing on experience in applied AI research. He helps learners define a project that is meaningful to them and supports them through to a polished, presentable result.

Our Standards

How We Maintain Quality

A set of clear principles guides how courses are designed, how mentors are supported, and how learner information is handled.

Reviewed Curriculum

Course materials are reviewed at least twice a year to ensure they reflect current tools, practices, and learner feedback. Nothing stays in the curriculum simply because it has always been there.

Feedback at Every Stage

Learners are invited to share their experience throughout, not only at the end. Short check-ins after each module help mentors adjust pace and emphasis before issues accumulate.

Data Privacy

Learner information is stored securely and used only to support the learning relationship. It is not shared with third parties for advertising or sold in any form.

Honest Scope

We describe what each course covers clearly, including what it does not cover. Learners make informed choices based on accurate information, not promotional language.

Mentor Accountability

Each mentor is supported by the wider team and given time for their own development. Teaching standards are held through peer review and regular discussion, not just self-assessment.

Accessible Language

Technical terms are introduced only when needed, and always explained in plain language first. We do not assume background knowledge that has not yet been taught.

AI Education Designed for Thoughtful Learners

Witthaya Labs occupies a specific position in the landscape of technical education in Thailand. It is not a coding bootcamp focused on speed, nor a university programme aimed at those with years of prior study. It sits in the space between those approaches: a place where adults with genuine curiosity about artificial intelligence can study carefully, with support, and at a pace that suits them.

The school's approach draws on structured learning theory, which holds that new knowledge is most stable when it connects clearly to what the learner already understands. Rather than presenting AI as a collection of techniques to memorise, the curriculum builds a picture of how ideas relate to each other — why certain mathematical tools are useful, what different model types are suited for, and how to think through a problem before writing a single line of code.

In practical terms, this means learners spend time with each concept before moving on. Exercises are designed to surface misunderstandings early, so that mentors can address them before they become obstacles. Progress is measured not by speed but by comprehension — a distinction that learners with busy professional lives tend to appreciate.

The school's courses span three levels. The introductory track covers Python, data fundamentals, and the conceptual foundations of machine learning. The intermediate track builds on this with hands-on model development and small group feedback. The advanced capstone supports learners in completing a substantial independent project — the kind of work that demonstrates genuine understanding to others in the field.
